Innocent Mage

Asher is a simple fisherman with grand dreams. So after abandoning his hometown and his abusive older brothers he heads over to the capitol. There he meets Gar, the prince of Lur, and they become odd friends.

His arrival, however, was closely watched by The Circle, an organization of mages that no one even knows exists. Dathne, the psychic, has dreamed about him for years and now that he has arrived the prophecy they have been guarding against is about to begin.

I really enjoyed this book. It was well written and the characters were all well developed. The only problem I had was that the majority of the book was about Asher and Gar being friends and their lives in the capitol. It had nothing to do with the prophecy until the final few chapters and even then it was just a main antagonist getting his plans in order. Nothing really happened in the book. Despite that I still loved it and want to read Book 2.
