After receiving a taunting gift from Melisandre, Phedre is determined to find and bring the traitor to justice. Her single-mindedness, however, threatens to cost her, her queen and their country everything.

I can safely say that this will be the last book I read in this series and from this author.

There were so many needless obstacles thrown in Phedre’s way, so that she can enter the scene for a last minute save.

There is, again, too much reliance on her getting information through sex. You think at least some people would be smarter and more close lipped about things like this. I will say that at least some information was ferreted out by actual questioning and investigating, so there is that.

And, seriously, is everyone into the whole BDSM scene in this world?

There was one twist that I totally didn’t see coming, but it wasn’t enough for me to enjoy the book.
