After his father is killed when he is but a baby, Hadding is brought in secret to a family of Jotuns (giants). They raise him until he is old enough to seek vengeance for his father and to claim the throne that is rightfully his.

I could not get into this book at all. Something about the style of writing turned me off on the book almost right away.

It didn't help that Hadding had a sexual relationship with the woman who nursed and fostered him as a child. I mean, one of the lines she used to persuade him to sleep with her was that she nursed him as a baby! That's just wrong on so many levels. After that I pretty much skimmed through the story.

Definitely a book to skip.
